C of I Earns Top Spot in CCC Preseason Coaches' Poll

LA GRANDE, Ore. – After ending the 2014-15 campaign with the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season title and the postseason tournament championship, College of Idaho has been selected to repeat, earning the top spot in the 2015-16 CCC Preseason Coaches' Poll after a vote by the head coaches.
With seven first place votes, the Yotes totaled 110 points in the poll, edging out second place by nine points. C of I finished last year in a three way tie in the conference standings going 14-4 but held a 30-6 overall record to claim first in the standings. C of I headed to the NAIA National Tournament ranked fourth after collecting the tournament championship with a win over Southern Oregon.
Northwest Christian had one of their best seasons in the CCC last year with a fifth place finish and a record of 17-11, 10-8 CCC. The Beacons earned three first-place votes in the preseason poll to take second place with 101 points.
Warner Pacific comes in at number three with 89 points after finishing third in conference standings last year as part of the three-way tie at 14-4. With an overall record of 26-8, the Knights were one of four CCC teams that made it to the NAIA National Tournament.
Oregon Tech (87) comes in fourth followed by Southern Oregon (80) in fifth and Corban (69), who collected one first place vote, in the sixth spot.
Finishing out the preseason poll are Eastern Oregon (64) in seventh, Northwest (63) in eighth, Evergreen (33) in ninth and CCC newcomers Multnomah (19) and Walla Walla (14) in 10<sup>th</sup> and 11<sup>th</sup> respectively.

Northwest Christian's Austin Kuemper Selected as CCC Preseason Player of the Year

LA GRANDE, Ore. – After a vote by the conference coaches, Northwest Christian's Austin Kuemper landed in the top spot, earning the 2015-16 Cascade Collegiate Conference Preseason Player of the Year title, the conference office announced.

Kuemper, a senior forward from Portland, Ore., will lead a team that was picked to finish second in the CCC standings this year after coming off a fifth place finish a year ago with a 17-11 record. Kuemper record 14.9 points a game last year along with 6.6 rebounds. NCU landed one other player on the list in Javonte Byrd who tallied just over 12 points a game last year.
Six different schools had two players make the preseason all-conference team in NCU, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific, Corban and Northwest.
Eastern's Bryan McGriff finished the 2014-15 campaign as the conference's leading scorer, averaging 22.1 points per game and added 9.6 rebounds.
SOU's Jordan West helped the Raiders to a berth in the NAIA National Tournament last season, averaging just over 15 points with 5.6 rebound while Warner Pacific's Earl Jones tallied 15.4 points.
Oregon Tech, College of Idaho and The Evergreen State College each had one selection to complete the preseason all-conference team.
